ACUPUNCTURE
Acupuncture is an age old system of health care which dates back to thousands of years ago and works within a holistic framework whereby the complete individual (physical, emotional and spiritual) is taken into consideration.
Acupuncture taps into the nervous system to help the body to heal and repair, activating the bodies own innate healing capacity thereby improving quality of mood, sleep, stress, digestion, pain and more.
PLEASE NOTE ACUPUNCTURE AND DRY NEEDLING ARE VERY DIFFERENT. Read more in my blog.
Silvia has a special interest in preventative medicine and sports injuries/chronic pain also with experience treating some past players of the Richmond Football Club including Matthew Richardson and athletes from other sports codes as well as being part of the medical team as an acupuncturist for the Western Bulldogs Football Club for 3 years from 2011 to 2014 helping achieve a low injury rate. Go to "about" page to find out more on what Silvia treats and how Silvia individualises her one on one treatments where the "whole" being is taken to account.

HERBAL MEDICINE
We are lucky to be able to tap into nature and have herbs around us which nourish, support and guide our body through its very unique capacity to heal itself, no matter what the disease.

Silvia can also work on your unique nutrition and lifestyle plan based on evidence based research and/or the traditional approach including recommending meditation and mindfulness programs such as MICBT (Mindfulness Integrative Cognitive Behavioural Therapy)

EQUINE ACUPUNCTURE
Equine acupuncture and cold laser therapy can be used as a complementary treatment for your horse, along side veterinary care and other treatments and can be used for all sorts of conditions, no different to what it is used for in humans. Some of the conditions though, do vary as they are only present in horses and not in humans!Â
Some of the conditions which cold laser and/or acupuncture is frequently used for in horses includes chronic and acute laminitis, colic, stringhalt, muscle tightness and soreness/pain, difficulties with digestion, trauma recovery and healing, soft tissue injury such as tendonitis, scar tissue, fertility, post viral fatigue or just fatigue/lacking lustre, behavioural problems, viral infections with cough/COPD and choking. Silvia has in depth knowledge on how to treat laminitis and equine metabolic syndrome. Read the blog for guidance and details.

PHYSICAL THERAPY
Massage or Physical therapy can be used in conjunction with acupuncture and other modalities. Silvia has also completed studies in remedial/sports massage. She combines her knowledge of sport's massage, exercises, stretches, trigger points and acupuncture to help treat sport's injuries and other aches and pains.
